I have a specialist at a site that installed MCC EMS, which included NMCC DECnet MONITOR V2.2. When he bring it into FILEVIEW the following error message is generated: GKS-E-ERROR_23 Specified worstation type does not exist in routine GKS$OPEN_S PAS-F-SUBSTRSEL ERROR We believe that there should be some type of logical such as GSK$WSTYPE needed with the process, but we are not sure how to do it. Has anyone seen this problem before and know step-by-step what needs to be done? Any help would be appreciated... Thanks, RO

192.1 | GKS$WSTYPE does need to be defined | TOOK::W_MCGRATH | DTN 226-5075 | Thu Jul 19 1990 16:10 | 11 |
I haven't seen this exact error, but you are correct. GKS$WSTYPE needs to be defined. It should be defined as a VT240 or VT340. I think a simple: $DEFINE GKS$WSTYPE "12" should do the trick. I believe this is listed in the release notes, either for NMCC/DECnet Monitor or MCC EMS. Let me know if this doesn't do the trick. -Will- DTN 226-5075
192.2 | The DEFINE worked | CSC32::ORTIZ | Fri Jul 20 1990 12:04 | 6
Thanks for the information. The DEFINE didn't work right off. The specialist stated that he didn't follow the exact steps to the installation. I had him reinstall NMCC and then the DEFINE worked fine. Thanks for the help... RO |
