166.0. "SRM Update Information" by TOOK::WONG () Wed Jul 04 1990 13:03
A number of ECO's have been generated for the V1.0 DECmcc System Reference
Manual. These changes are documented in Update Notice No. 1 for that version
of the SRM. In order to help you understand whether these updates would
be useful for you to have, the areas affected are described below:
ECO #34 - In the data types chapter, three new ID802 data types were
added to support the protocol filtering capabilities of the
LANbridge 200.
ECO #35 - The ability to do wildcard processing was enhanced to be able
to handle new datatypes, as they are generated, in a more
extensible manner. Changes were made to the Abstract Entity
Specifier routines in Chapters 10 and 11. Additionally, the
description dealing with wildcarding for each data type,
in the data types chapter was updated.
ECO #36 - The Ethernet Access Routines in Chapter 11 were updated in the
area of CVRs, data types of arguments, and argument descriptions.
ECO #37 - The ILV routines in Chapters 10 and 11 were updated with an
improvement in the handling of constructed attributes in
Attrib_List constructions.
To determine if you already have these updates, please scan your copy of
the SRM. Updated pages have cahnge bars on them, and an annotation at the
bottom of the page, such as:
< Update Date:February 6, 1990>
or
< Update Date:March 29, 1990>
A page that can be checked which includes such a notice is page 51. This page
deals with Section 4.3.4, Processing Wildcards.
These updates are most applicable to people ALREADY CODING to Internal and
External Field Test versions of MCC.
Please note that V1.1 of the SRM will be forthcoming corresponding to V1.0 of
the MCC product, in the September-October timeframe. The contents of the update
notice plus a number of changes for portability will be included in the V1.1
version.
