HI (I'm not a happy camper!!) Summary: MCC$startup shouldn't use the iconic PM (ui_trim) to do enrollment. I rebooted my system today and MCC caused a MESS! It seems my mcc iconic PM license expired -June 1st and since the MCC$startup file is in my systartup grouped batch stream half of my startup failed. (I'm mad but i guess its my own fault. Yes, I know use seton.) The real point is that mcc$startup show only use the "MCC standard" software and not "optional" modules so this kind of thing DOESN"T happen. Here's what happened: "$ mcc/module=mcc$ui_trm" %MCC-E-LMF_FAILED, License check failed So of cousre the rest of the MCC$startup failed and so did my set of batched startups after MCC$startup. Also, since mcc will use many licenses the MCC startup (including enrollment) shouldn't fail if one or more are missing; Warning message via console and/or email would be appropriate. Finally, when do WE get the NEW License?? Without tinkering it seems I can't even use MCC now!!! SYS-GSFMCC:: mcc %MCC-E-LMF_FAILED, License check failed What a way to start my day. ===Steve

>Summary: MCC$startup shouldn't use the iconic PM (ui_trim) to do enrollment. It doesn't. The mcc$ui_trm module is the command line presentation module, not the iconic map. > "$ mcc/module=mcc$ui_trm" > %MCC-E-LMF_FAILED, License check failed That's happening to a lot of people today. See note 47.* for the latest MCC licenses. Sorry for the inconvenience. regards, Pete
142.2 | TRM failed its' license check | GOSTE::CALLANDER | Mon Jun 04 1990 16:48 | 5
Also note that the TRM module is NOT optional. But like all other modules TRM has a license check in it. The reason your start up failed is because the TRM did not pass its' license check. When licenses expire you have to update them before trying to rerun.

I think you mean it's not separately packaged. I hope there's no technical requirement that an MCC needs the TRM.
142.4 | TRM is default | GOSTE::CALLANDER | Wed Jun 06 1990 15:26 | 4
Didn't think I implied that, sorry if I did. Jim is right; TRM is *not* seperately packaged. In the version 1 product the command line interface is the default presentation module. |
