KEYWORDS: DBI-F-TAB_NO_COLS Oracle gateway attach
TITLE: Problem attaching to Oracle using Rdb Transparent Gateway for Oracle
PRODUCT: Rdb Transparent Gateway for Oracle
OP/SYS: OpenVMS VAX or OpenVMS AXP
SOURCE: Oracle Worldwide Customer Support
SYMPTOM: Attaching to an Oracle database using Rdb Transparent Gateway for
Oracle yields the following error:
DBI-F-TAB_NO_COLS
WORKAROUND: We've seen this problem when invalid Oracle objects exist and
users don't specify specific tables with the /TABLE attach
parameter. In Oracle you can define a view based on a table and
then drop the table afterwards. If the orphaned view is accessible
to the Oracle user specified in /USER then you will see this error.
The workaround is to specify the exact tables you plan to use on
the SQL attach using the /TABLE qualifier.
