14.0. "looking for concepts, architecture etc." by EMNTAL::STADELMANN (Sepp @ZUO 760-2609) Tue Feb 04 1997 04:39

    I have installed the kit. Now I am looking for a document/presentation
    explaining the concepts, the architecture, the relations among things.
    (I have read the DTC White Paper and the inter operation specs).

    Sepp,

    Did the kit come with documentation? I found both the Introduction and
    the DTC User's Guide to be very helpful. If these docs are not part of
    the kit, I can get them for you.

14.3DTC presentation materialTUXEDO::M_MCCAULEYTue Feb 04 1997 16:1011

    	Check out the objectbroker web page - there is a Desktop Connection
    	Whitepaper there that John Parodi wrote (in case you haven't seen
    	it). Also, In January we delivered a focus session on CORBA Academy
    	and we developed some presentations around CORBA Part A and ActiveX
    	and CORBA Interworking with a lab using the DTC. We are in the
    	process of packaging this for field consumption. I will send you
    	the presentation material we used.

14.4where is documentation ?EMNTAL::STADELMANNSepp @ZUO 760-2609Wed Feb 05 1997 03:3016
    JP,

    I cant find "ObjectBroker Desktop Connection Introduction"

    And o yes: I would realy sit back in a confortable chair, then relax
    and have a bier, and read all this very worth material from paper
    (a real book) in a very consecutive maner, and not "hypertexting"
    arround on my PC.

    I do not like the print topic (all) feature of the online
    documentation, because I did not manage so far to print a nice book.

    So where are the .PS or .PDF files with all the nice content in one
    binder.

    Sepp,
14.5Docs are in top level of CDORION::MICOZZIWed Feb 05 1997 09:1612
    Sepp:

    You can find the Introduction (dskintro.ps) and the User's Guide
    (dskbookshelf.ps) in the top level of the field test CD. Are
    you an offical field test site, if so you should have a hardcopy
    of the Introduction. It was released with the CD. The user information
    is available online from the Desktop Informaton Set icon in the
    ObjectBroker program group.

    Let me know if you need more information...

14.6network pointer requiredEMNTAL::STADELMANNSepp @ZUO 760-2609Thu Feb 06 1997 09:2610
    No, I got a network kit as announced, and I did not finde the intro in
    this network kit.

    BTW: what documets as .PS or .PDF files can I expect from DTC to read
    as a real book.

    BTW: are there pointers to the network copies of this .PS and .PDF
    files.

    Sepp,
