Brief Description of Problem:

After installing Digital UNIX V4.0, root can only login. for other users
the CDE hangs. Install log seems to be having no errors.
Suggested to
1. change cde to mwm and see whether other users are able to login
2. delete the CDE related subsets and reinstall.
They will try these suggestions and give us a call if they encounter problems
again.

She had actually reinstalled the OS and found that the monitor
resolution got changed. Told her to use Xdec to set the screen
resolution.
