3474.1 | Double-check that version info... | AMCUCS::SWIERKOWSKI | Quot homines tot sententiae | Mon Apr 14 1997 15:32 | 22 |
| Greetings!
You need to have the customer verify those versions:
>V7.1 is using UCX 4.2
>v6.2 is using UCX 3.3
The latest (off the March SPL) version of UCX for OpenVMS Alpha is V4.1A,
(their is no V4.2 released yet and it's not mentioned in note 2.last of the
UCX conference). They should be running V4.1 with ECO 4 installed or the
V4.1A kit (which I believe is V4.1 with ECO 2 installed).
Have them send you the output from SYS$SYSTEM:UCX$VERSIONS.EXE so you have
accurate version and ECO level information to work with, cheers...

| Called customer back to verify UCX verion, from UCX, show version, it
is v4.1.
Customer complained that someone from DEC installed the new system, a
AS1000, with OpenVMS v7.1 about a month ago. The software developer
stated that the DEC person was not network literate and the network has
not been working correctly from the start.

| Loaded CD's on VMS and looked at base VMS documentation about UCX and
also layered products CD to see if I can get more insight into his
problem. Was not able to find anything that could help. It was
recommend that I talk with Bruce Moore for help, after trying several
people in our group.
