Before I can give you a definitive answer, how did you change the
settings for "root" to begin with? Knowing that, I may be able to
provide
a short cut solution.

I use the graphic interface it is very simple. From the icon. But when
I
add new users. The setting for new users are wrong. The graphic does
not
ask me if I want to the setting apply to all the users or not. Can I do
it
with the IDE interface?
Regards.

Can you explain to me how the xdm (X Display Manager) works. In what
sequence it search the config file, and what are those config files. I
suppose there are personal setting also default setting. It seem the when
I login as root it can find root's personal setting. But when I login as
normal user it fails to find the right setting.
The CDE menu is very hard to read. It has 20 chapters!
Regards.
