Subject: printer question

     Hello,

     On other platforms we install a portion of our software as a virtual
     printer using the lpadmin command:

        lpadmin -pvista -v/dev/null -mvista

     (Where vista is the name of our virtual printer and the name of our
     print model. The vista model captures data to our data warehouse.)

     I've started poking around with lprsetup, but it is not obvious to me
     what the equivalent technique would be.

     Could you point me in the right direction?

     Thanks,

3427.1lpadmin part of the System V EnvironmentRDGENG::ddors.reo.dec.com::readings_rWed Apr 02 1997 07:037
1. lpadmin is available as part of the System V Environment for Digital UNIX, specifically the
SVEPRINT320 subset, Print Package (System V Environment).

2. lprsetup is basically just a utility to set up /etc/printcap. However AKAIK printcap does not
provide a virtual printer feature.

Sorry, SVEPRINT320 relates to Digital UNIX 3.2. For Digital UNIX 4.0A
you need the SVEPRINT400 subset on the Associated Products Volume 2 CD.
