    Brief Description of Problem:
    -----------------------------

ASAP Customer Code: 586962

I installed MME 2.2 onto a Digital UNIX 4.0B system and the
installation explained that MME was not supported on 4.0B. Do you
plan to support MME again with 4.0B or with future versions of Digital
UNIX? Are you planning to replace MME with some other multimedia or
sound support?

Thanks,
Shawn

Shawn,

Did the kit install or not? According to the information that I have, this
message is informational and actually not correct.

"The Microsoft Sound Board Device Support V2.2
might not be fully supported on Digital UNIX versions following
             Digital UNIX V4.0A.

Install the MMEDRVMSB220 subset at your own risk."

The next major release of DIGITAL UNIX probably will require a new release of
MME, but that's a ways off yet.

Thank you,

Mark Schafer

I installed MME 2.2 onto a Digital UNIX 4.0B system and i cannot
locate any sample programs. I installed all the primary and
documentation subsets. The documentation mentions that they should be
in /usr/examples/mme but that directory only contains sample data, no
sample code. I've also looked over the installation in
/usr/opt/MME220 but couldn't find them there either.

Could you please send me either a pointer to these sample programs or
send me the sample programs themselves?

Thanks,
Shawn

Shawn,

Was this file there?

The complete instructions for building the sample programs are in
/usr/examples/mme/README.txt.

Shawn,

According to the MME install guide:

7.7 Development Kit Subsets

MMEDEV Multimedia Services for Digital UNIX Development

Description This subset contains the header files
                                   necessary to develop applications
                                   that incorporate multimedia features
                                   using the Multimedia Services
                                   application programming interface.
The subset also includes sample code
                                   to demonstrate programming to the
                                   interfaces.
                    Requirements MMERT, OSFCMPLRS, OSFXDEV.
                                   1. In order to compile the sample code,
                                      the OSFCMPLRS Compiler Back End
                                      Software Development subset is
                                      required.
                                   2. In order to build the Makefiles and
                                      some of the sample applications,
                                      the OSFXDEV X Window Software
                                      Development subset is required.
