I spoke with Lesley Little at Systems Union. She said she'd been calling
because one of her end-users was having a problem using a report writer
package from IQ Software.
The end-user said that the package wasn't performing sorts fast enough. IQS
document a particular parameter of theirs as being related to sort performance,
but when they tried to change this parameter, it made no difference to the sort
speed.
Lesley said that IQS said that this must be something to do with Digital Unix,
and recommended that she call us.
I asked Lesley for a contact at IQS, and was given the name Miles Bannister.
I spoke with Miles, and he said that he didn't believe there was any need for
Digital to be involved in this: he believed the problem was specific to their
software. He said he believed the problem statement I had was incorrect
because of the number of layers of people it had been through.
Miles said he didn't see any need for Digital to get involved; relayed
this info to Lesley Little
