    Brief Description of Problem:

     Problem with NT Install

     Hello,

I am with Autodesk, Inc.. in San Rafael. I have received a Alpha
Server 2000 5/300 from the Seed program, our contact at DEC is Zoran
     Ilic.

I unpacked and set up the various components of the machine and turned
it on as specified in the user documentation. All the boot checks look
OK, and then the ARC firmware loads up with some drivers, again
everything looks OK. No operating system had been installed, so the
Firmware menu comes up saying no boot partitions exist.
The Disk Partitioning Information Sheet which came with the machine
specifies that the system disk is located at SCSI ID 0, with two
partitions, 2 is the 6 MB and 1 which contains the remainder of the
disk. It also says to install the NT from CD, so I went into the
supplementary firmware menu and selected: Install the NT operating
system from CD and at the same time put the NT 3.51 CD into the CD
     drive.

The NT set-up screen comes up, and loads several files, then displays
a screen requesting which Alpha model, so I selected AlphaServer 2x00
5/xxx Family. NT set-up then comes up with a new screen which loads
several drivers, and then switches to the Windows NT Operating System
     Ver. 3.51 (build 1057) screen.
Soon after it blows up to a screen which says that set-up has had a
fatal error and cannot continue, contact product support. It also
     displays the following codes:

     0X4, 0X1, 0,0

Any suggestions for resolving this problem.

     Regards,
     Pat Guyn
