Nish had a general question in term of how they can improve the performance of
their portfolio performance analysis application. They are currently running on
an RS6000 system and update of one portfolio takes over a minute. They have a
customer who wants to do 100s of these analysis.
My suggestion to him was to start thinking in terms of making their application
multi-threaded and use VLM technology to avoid disk accesses. They use Progress
database. So, I suggested they talk to Progress in terms of VLM support.
He seemed happy with my suggestions.
