ASAP Number: A60828

On our Alphaserver 2100A 5/300 (with 2 cpu's) we encounter following error
message during
execution:
pthread_create: Not enough space

Any idea on what can cause this error?

Luc,

I am investigating your problem report about:

	pthread_create: Not enough space

Please could you supply the following information:

1) output from "uname -a" command to identify UNIX version

2) output from "/sbin/sysconfig -q proc" command

3) output from "swapon -s"

Is the application you are running which generates this error
one which you developed yourself? If so, which threads interface
are you using? (e.g. 1003.1c-1995, 1003.4, etc.).

Thanks & regards,
  John Wood

John,

Thanks for the information regarding our threads problem.

Our program works fine now after setting the vm-mapentries and
vm-vpagemax to the values you suggested.

Thanks again,
