He is trying to set up disktab and disklable for a foreign disk. The broadbase log number is 3210. They are in California. It turns out this is a known problem with 4.0 and the Jaz diskes. it is described in detail in note 8865 of the Digital UNIX conference. Using some suggestions from that note Joe developed a workaround which is: 1. copy any disklable to the Jaz disk using dd. 2. run newfs newfs seems to able to get the required info off the JAZ while disklabel cannot. It then fixes the label and completes its function. Marvin |
