want
to start.

Condition before the restart :

Any access to the CDS (like rpc_ns_binding_export) produces the message :

In these conditions, our application cannot read/write to/from the CDS

3178.1DCE 2.0a Not Supported under Unix 4.0BRDGENG::CHAMBERLINDanger! Do not Reverse PolarityWed Feb 12 1997 08:2219
Gabriel,

DCE V2.0a is not yet supported under Digital Unix V4.0B, and we are aware
that some parts of it do not work. As yet we do not know when the problems will
be resolved. I am trying to find more infomation about whether your problem is
known, or whether it is to do with setup/install.

DCE V2.0a is supported under Digital Unix V4.0 and V4.0A. Is it possible
for you to try under one of these versions, which will help to clarify the
problem?

		Ian Chamberlin,

Software Partner Enginnering.

3178.2Should refer to CSC - seems like bugs in DCE with Unix 4.0B. (sent on 13 Feb)RDGENG::CHAMBERLINDanger! Do not Reverse PolarityTue Feb 18 1997 05:3921
Gabriel,
Could you please install the latest patches for Digital Unix
V4.0B.
There are several threads bug fixes that would affect DCE. Patch ID
OSF410-400131 might fix CDSADV hanging, although your problem is not one we
have come accross.

I'm not sure if V4.0B patches are available yet from our WWW site,
http://www.service.digital.com/html/patch_main.html
if not please contact your local Customer Support Centre.

SInce your problem is either an instalation problem, or product fault, I would
recommend you log the problem with the Customer Support Centre anyway, since
they are better able to deal with such problems.

Regards,

		Ian Chamberlin,

Software Partner Engineering, Digital Equipment Co.
