Customers company name is NextPoint. We have been playing phone tag over the last several days. I reached her today, and told her to add into the /etc/group file, on the "0:root" line all of the users who she wanted to have su system privledges. I explained how to add a newly created user to the "system" group to give them su privledges. I told her about editting the /etc/securettys file and adding the line ptys as a temporary work around for remote superuser logins. I explained that she needed to go to NIS as a secure method of doing this. However, while she researched how to load and set up NIS, she could do the "ptys" as a temporary workaround. |
