24.5Another ? re: shared foldersGRANPA::KKOZIANAWed Apr 16 1997 06:1514
    Hi all!
    I have a customer that is planning to use this product so that they can
    access pre-Exchange mail which is going to remain on the ALL-IN-1
    server...they are a government customer and do not want to migrate
    their previous mail. Since they are keeping the servers in place I was
    thinking it might be a good idea to maintain their shared drawers on
    ALL-IN-1 rather than creating public folders (due to the storage
    limitations now mandated by Exchange) but it doesn't look like new
    items can be posted from Exchange client to the shared drawers at this
    time. Am I right (maybe I'm doing something wrong) and if so is this a
    feature that might be considered in future releases? Any info around
    this would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Can you give more details please. For example what type of document was
    the user trying to copy? Was drag and drop used? A keyword you used was
    "posted" - did you mean that it was a Post being copied, or a mail
    message? What error message did you get?

    Cheers

24.7Actually trying to createGRANPA::KKOZIANAWed Apr 16 1997 14:1610
    Hi Stuart,
    I was trying to "post" as opposed to creating a message to store in the
    shared drawer. It was a Word doc. The message I received was that this
    was not available in this implementation so I thought possibly it might
    be coming in the future. I also tried to create/post the document in my
    MAIN drawer and then drag and drop but no luck. The "post" option can
    be found under the Compose menu along with New message, New Form, New
    Post. Does this help?
    Thanks!

    Hi,

    The current plan is not to support Posts in the next release. The one
    thing in the next release is that from Outlook there is an option to
    create a new document, such as Word, in a folder. I don't know why this
    option isn't available from the Exchange client.

    The other thing you can do, in both the current and next release, is to
    create your document using Word and save in an Explorer folder. Click
    on the new entry in the Explorer folder and then drag & drop the
    document into an ALL-IN-1 folder.

    Cheers
