So there's *some* non volatile memory in the N64 for saving a few games,
but for games that require a lot of save space, you need a memory card?
Does the memory card advertise how many games it can hold? Or how many
times larger it is than the built in NVRAM in the N64?

I called the Funco Land Video game store in Tyngsboro Mass. There are
two memory cards out for N64. The one I mentioned, and a 3rd party
product that holds more memory. This was $30.00 and the N64 was
$24.95. The guy at Funco suggested going with the 3rd party as it will
hold more games.
Personally for me, with the price of games, I won't have a large
library of games. That's about all I know about the memory pack. I'm
going to pick the pack up this weekend. When I have the stats
I'll post it in the conference.
Perhaps we can start a note for trading or selling the games you
don't with to play any longer.

OK, I now own a Controller Pak. We went with the Nintendo pak rather
then the 3rd party. From the instructioanl booklet:
"The N64 Controller Pak can save up to 123 pages of information."
I'm not sure what this equals in memory. The guy at Finco said the
3rd party controller will hold 1 meg of memory.
The pak slips into the controller and is about 2" in size. We picked
up ours at wallmart. $19.99.

| I wonder how many games equates to 123 pages (on average)...
I guess you will find out!
For $19.95 I imagine it probably holds around
15 games max like the Playstation memory card...
Although if they designed it better than the PSX card, it won't limit you
to 8K chunks as minimun size, so maybe it will hold more.

| I think the graphics and animation on this game are unbelievable! I've
played it for a few hours and was amazed at the level of detail in the
game. Then I tried a few cheats with all weapons, unlimited ammo and
infinite lives. Absolutely great game! I've played most of the N64
games and haven't seen anything that compares to this one at all, in
any way. I keep getting stuck on the same level-2- with two keys and
one to go, but I can't find it. Does anyone have any info on all the
keys or on cheats for level warps?
Wicked-wicked game....
Sean.

| I'd like to get this but I know I couldn't keep my 8 year old away from it.
Is it suitable for kids?

John,
I believe the box says 17yrs+. You can turn the blood off as well as
change the color from red to green.
Helpful hint follows.
I found out playing yesterday on level three, that you can climb some
trees for ammunition. Not sure if this holds true for levels one & two.

| Ok, I'm stuck. I can't seem to find the last key in level 3
and can't go any farther until I do.
Hints or spoilers welcome.

John,
If you have access to the Web, the Turok strategy guide is at
location:

I'll post below what it says for getting the Chronoscepter piece &
Key 3.
-Dean
Chronoscepter piece: The first sign that you are nearing a
piece of the mythical Chronoscepter piece comes in the form of
a Purlin standing atop a square pillar and a save game shrine to
the right. Note: It wouldn't be a bad idea to save the game right
around now -- you've got your work cut out for you. Jump
from pillar to pillar until you reach the large one at the end of
the row. Now, to get to the Chronoscepter piece you're going
to need to descend the pillars to the left until you reach the
second from final pillar. Don't turn right to the next pillar. Turn
to your left where you'll see a vine-covered wall with your
name on it. Climb that baby to the top and collect your reward:
Chronoscepter galore.
KEY 3: Once you've got the Chronoscepter piece a flat, square
blue port will bring you to the level-end portal (like the ones in
the Hub Ruins). The last key isn't very difficult to find. Just go
through the blue portal exit and wage war against the final
bosses (two trucks and a Long Hunter). Once you've killed
them (if, by chance, you do) all you've got left to do is grab the
final key in the middle of the arena and pat yourself on the
back. You're on your way, dinosaur hunter.
