10.0. "Now is the time to buy a Sega Saturn" by VLNVAX::STAPLETON () Thu Mar 20 1997 10:53
There is no better time to buy a Sega Saturn.
1. You get three free games when you buy it. I think that this
offer runs through May 31, 1997. Check store for details.
2. If you then buy two games (from a list of 12), you get one
free (from a list of four). February 15, 1997 to April 15,
1997
3. If you buy (or bought) the Saturn between February 15, 1997
and April 15, 1997 and you know someone who has had their
registered Saturn, they have a rebate coupon worth $35.
What you need to do, according to the coupon is:
1. Purchase one Sega Saturn game system between February 15, 1997
and April 15, 1997. NO SUBSTITUTIONS PERMITTED.
2. Submit the ORIGINAL dated store register receipt with your
Sega Saturn game system purchase clearly indicated. NO
PHOTOCOPIES OR SUBSTITUTIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
3. Cut out and submit the ORIGINAL UPC code from your Sega Saturn
package (located on the back of the package). NO PHOTOCOPIES
OR SUBSTITUTIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
4. Have your friend fill in their name and address in the space
provided at the left. Please PRINT CLEARLY.
5. Mail this coupon along with ALL of the items listed above to:
Saturn Friends Offer, P.O. Box 5119, Clinton IA 52736-5119
ALL REQUESTS MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN MAY 1, 1997.
According to the coupon, you get the check in 8-10 weeks and limit one
per household or address.
Now, you've probably guessed that I have one of those coupons. I am
willing to part with it to anyone with one proviso. You must show me
that it will be used (i.e. you've bought the system). It would bug me
if I gave it to someone who planned on getting the system, only to put
it off, blah, blah, blah and never get the system.

10.1 | Should I get one if I already have a playstation? | METALX::SWANSON | Victim of Changes | Thu Mar 20 1997 12:32 | 15 |
| What are Saturns going for these days (without the coupon rebate?) I have one
of those coupons that someone gave me, and I'm thinking about getting a
Saturn now, but I want to make sure it's worth it considering I already have
a Playstation.
I heard they are selling for $189 now. Is this true? Is it possible to find
them even cheaper?
If now is the time to get one, then maybe I should get one before the
coupon expires. I just want to make sure there are enough games for it that
aren't also available on the Playstation.
Do you have any thoughts on this?

| I suppose that some stores are selling Saturns for $189. I thought it
was $199. As to owning both a Playstation and a Saturn, sure I think
it is worth it. I have both. I've had the Saturn since it came out
and got the Playstation about four months after it came out.
As for games that are unique to Saturn (i.e. not on Playstation), there
are many.
Here are some:
Virtua Fighter 1 Virtua Cop 1
Virtua Fighter 2 Virtua Cop 2
Virtual On Guardian Heros
Sega Rally Gun Griffon
Baku Baku BUG
Iron Storm Bug Too
Dragon Force NiGHTS
Daytona Clockwork Knight
Daytona CCE Clockwork Knight 2
Panzer Dragoon Sonic 3D Blast
Panzer Dragoon 2
There are lots more. I have some of the above. I have more games
for my Saturn than my Playstation. Some other people are the other
way around.
