| Next Saturday is Englands first match in the 5 nations and to celebrate
my last day as a non-parent I'm holding a party.
Anyone who can get there is welcome, email the above for details
Those of you who are quick of the mark will notice that to become an ex
non-parent requires a sprog, My wife flew to Bangkok yesterday and
returns on Sunday with Niwat, the embassy *finally* issued a visa!

| Well (rod!)
It's taken nearly 3 years and my complete bank balance but on Sunday
morning my wife returned from Thailand with the Kid in tow.
He's taking a little time to adjust to the move but he seems happy
enough, tommorrow we're taking him to visit a special school which
will help him intergrate to Western life.
Now if only there was a school to help me adjust to having a 4 year
old running around...

| 1) On Saturday young Jonathan got his British passport. Since he, like me,
was born outside of the UK this is very important. The bastards have
already changed the rules regarding this twice during my lifetime. If
he wants his kids to be British then he'll have to make sure they're
born in Britain (probably England by then). Still, that'll be his
problem.
2) I managed to go for a run on Saturday and again on Sunday. This is
the first time I've felt up to running on two consecutive days since I
broke my leg last August. Considering that I've got an extra 10 kilos
to get rid of it's not before time.
Cheers,
Brian

| Oh, Silvia is just a second-hand car I could get for dirt cheap. But
it's an awful lot of fun and it drives like no tomorrow. I don't really
need a car, so that vortex in the gas tank is not of too much of a
worry. Having played around with it a little, it can manouver on a post
stamp, and it easily does well over 200 kmh. How much it can do
exactly, I don't think I'll try figure out while in Holland...

| Our garden is rapidly becoming an animal sanctuary. In the last few
days we have received visits from one bat (who Cleo managed to capture
and bring into the house a few weeks ago but he came back), one fox and
three hedgehogs. I was out in the garden on Sunday night, heard a
scuffling noise in one of the bushes, when we got a torch and looked
closer there were three hedgehogs scurrying around.
I think I'm really going to miss that garden when we move.

| RKE and I are now the proud owners of an abode in Reading. Within a few
weeks, no more commuting between Southampton and Reading every day for
work.
The abode is actually a flat, with a very good size lounge, two
bedrooms plus the usual rooms (kitchen, bathroom etc). We pick the keys
up today, the cats move in on Sunday, and we spend the next few weeks
decorating. Then we'll move in properly.
It's exciting for me because I've never lived in the same town that I work
in. To have my commute time go down from 1 hour+ (some years, when
I worked in London it took 2 hours to get to work) to 15-20 minutes
will be an absolute joy (and so will the traffic jams in Reading!!!!).
Goldy.
