| It is difficult to compare apples to apples on older system vs newer
systems. Newer systems usually run the latest & greatest benchmarks and
rarely if ever are these run on the older systems. We can quote you all
sorts of performance numbers on each system but finding a common benchmark
is almost inpossible. I suspect that this customer has a specific
application or application mix and thus should ask the application vendor
how their application benchmarks on these 2 systems. Or you could sell the
customer some consultancy to take actual system data and see how it may
scale when moved to Alpha.
