76.0. "ALPF11X03_070 instal fail on 6.2-1H3?" by CSC32::L_SOBCZYNSKI () Tue Apr 08 1997 07:57

If this is has been placed in the wrong notes conference please advise.

ECO ALPF11X03_070 was applied against two Alphas, on running version
6.1 of OpenVMS, the second Alpha running version 6.2-1H3. The Patch
sucessfully applied against the Alpha running version 6.1, HOWever the
patch failed to install on the Alpha running version 6.2-1H3. The
exact reason for failure has since been lost. The customer has noted
that the released version of F11BXQP.EXE, that came with v6.2-1H3, has
an older dating factor that does the version released with the ECO kit.
Therefore the ECO supplied copy of F11BXQP.EXE, should have installed, but
didn't.

Have not found any other incident of this happening, any ideas or?

There is some additional checking I have to do, but thought I would
pose the question at the on set to see if this situation may have
already been reported.

Thanks in advance.

Regards
Leonard
