75.0. "4000 aux serial port" by DABEAN::REAUME (http://www.dreamscape.com/johnrea) Wed Apr 02 1997 13:10
We've worked an issue on a Alpha 4610 (Cobra) where the auxiliary
serial port had a problem working with a modem. We tried two new I/O
boards and the peculiarity with these were that the DTR LED would never
light on the modem and the application using the modem (Visi-Fax)
wouldn't work. In the end the resolution was to put the original I/O
module back in and the port worked (DTR asserted on power up).
Is there an evironmental parameter that affects this? I am posting
this here because there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of information
on Cobra 4000's out there. The customer is worried that none of our
spares will support the modem unless we determine why it wouldn't work.
