32.1 | Works on my system | STAR::DEAN_G | | Mon Feb 03 1997 17:16 | 12 |
| Hi,
We have not had any problems running OpenVMS V6.2 with the latest firmware.
OpenVMS V6.2-1h2 was qualified with the V6.3-2 firmware and the main difference
between OpenVMS V6.2 and OpenVMS V6.2-1h2 is support for CIPCA and some
hardware platforms. The support for the Alphastation 200 should not have
changed in that version.
If you ever upgrade your firmware and it doesn't work, you can always back your
firmware down to the previous version.

I should add a note that this is NOT an official support answer. I don't know
who you should see for an official answer. If you are simply trying to debug a
problem, the new firmware should be ok.

32.4 | If you need official support... | XDELTA::HOFFMAN | Steve, OpenVMS Engineering | Tue Feb 04 1997 15:26 | 17 |

: I need to be sure about its supported or not.
If it's not listed in the supported documentation and your customer
needs an official statement, you'll need to contact the AlphaStation
platform manager, and one of the OpenVMS product managers.
See the low-numbered notes for the OpenVMS product managers. See VTX
IR for the AlphaStation product contacts.
I'd hope you are already in contact with the AlphaStation engineers,
if you are swapping PALcode versions...
The other obvious way into a supported configuration -- assuming the
calls to the product managers don't pan out the way you'd like -- is
an upgrade to OpenVMS V6.2-1H3.
