Hi all,
I need a clarification about the ECO patches incorporated in
OpenVMS Alpha 7.1.
A customer of mine has just installed this version on his system.
He installed also Decwindows Motif 1.2-4.
He was planning to install also the Motif patch ALPMOT01_U4012, but
he has read the release notes of the operating system and discovered
that the patch was already included.
Now his question is : why a patch for a separate layered product
is included in the operating system?
Thanks all a lot in advance.
Sonia

Some (core) parts of DECwindows are shipped with OpenVMS -- these parts are typically OpenVMS-version specific. I'd read the release notes ECO text for ALPMOT01_U4012, and see what that document says about this. If that does not indicate the patches are applied, I'd log an IPMT against DECwindows to get the information confirmed and the ECO text updated. You'll want to ask DECwindows questions in BULOVA::DECWINDOWS. | |||||
