683.0. "Dual Host(not cluster)?" by TKOV51::YAMASHIGE (DEC JAPAN) Wed Jun 04 1997 02:17

 Does AlphaServer support Dual-Host ? (not Cluster)
 I hear VAX supprts Dual-Host.

 AlphaServer2100_A  does mount disk1,disk2.
 When AlphaServer2100_A fails down, AlphaServer2100_B does mount disks.

  Asked and answered in Alphanotes. The answer is NO. You cannot have 2 nodes
  on a shared storage bus (CI, DSSI or SCSI) without using cluster software
  to coordinate access.
