679.0. "symbiont in compute loop" by ALLOUT::STEWART (Bob Stewart) Tue Jun 03 1997 11:21
I came in today and found that some process named SYMBIONT_2 was eating
all the computes on my system. I recently "upgraded" to 7.1, there may
or may not be a connection. I have never seen this problem before. I
tried poking at things for a while, then rebooted to "solve" the
problem.
SHOW/PROC/ALL/ID didn't show me anything startling, SHOW SYS just
showed COM and lots of time, nothing remarkable about paging or
anything.
If it happens again, what commands should I use to find out what is
going on? Is there anything in accounting that might help, for instance
is there some way to find out what image was running? Or maybe
something in ANAL/SYS?
