   June, 1997, per the latest information I have on this, is the
   end of the line for prior-version-support for OpenVMS V6.1.

   V6.2 is slated to be the longer-term V6.* prior-version-support
   supported release, or some such wording...

    I could be off base on this, but I think a customer can write a custom
    contract for extended support on a prior version of anything. 
    Natrually it cost more, and the older the version the more it costs.
    
    I would contact the CSC and ask their business people.
