629.0. "fix for problem with rms block count > 126?" by CSCMA::HATCH () Thu May 22 1997 11:09

    Hi

    	Can anyone tell me if QAR 2639 has been addressed in any of the
    latest eco kits or new releases for VMS? It was the problem
    regarding the rms network block count with values greater than 126.

    Thanks

    ...Helen

629.1Which QAR Database?XDELTA::HOFFMANSteve, OpenVMS EngineeringThu May 22 1997 11:193
   Which QAR database was 2639 in?  (I've checked V5, V6, EVMS-RAVEN,
   EVMS-THETA, and a few other QAR databases, and didn't see this one.)

    Hi

    	The original qar was entered against DECnet/osi and they told me
    that they moved it to your product for an rms fix. This is documented
    in decnet-osi_for_vms notes file as note 3966. That is all the
    information I have. Any help you can provide in tracking this down
    would be appreciated.

    Thanks

629.3Ask DECnet-Plus where they put it...XDELTA::HOFFMANSteve, OpenVMS EngineeringThu May 22 1997 12:3621
   OpenVMS has a large number of QARs, and a number of QAR databases.
   (This situation can be confusing, but there are typically only a
   few relevent QAR databases: EVMS-RAVEN and VAX-RAVEN are the two
   most commonly-used QAR databases of recent -- these databases are
   reports for the next non-hardware OpenVMS release.)

   Ok, the number you posted in .0 is the QAR number for a QAR in a
   database for the DECnet-Plus product, on the DECnet-Plus QAR node.
   (NACQAR::? That node is not accessable via SET HOST right now, so
   I am unable to check...)

   I have performed several additional searches for this QAR in the
   more commonly-used OpenVMS QAR databases, and have not been able to
   locate anything resembling this report.

   If you want to follow up on this, ask the DECnet-Plus folks the QAR
   number and QAR database on the OpenVMS QAR database on TRIFID::.
   (And when in doubt, ask the person that posted the response to your
   original HELP::DECNET-OSI_FOR_VMS note 3966.0.)
