627.1 | Defining the logical should do it.... | OSLAGE::AGE_P | Aage Ronning, Oslo, Norway, (DTN 872-8464) | Thu May 22 1997 02:38 | 7 |
| 1. If I remember correctly the logical will limit the number of queues pr.
symbiont to 16. That does NOT limit the number of queues to 16, it does the
opposite.
2. Define the logical.

627.2 | Queues > 16 will a new symbiont automatically creaed? | HTSC19::KENNETH | | Thu May 22 1997 03:12 | 11 |
| Hi,
Thanks for your help. Does that mean if I have more than 16 queues,
than I should consider adding another symbiont?
Will the queue manager create the new symbiont automatically when the
first symbiont reach the limit of 16 queues after we define the logical?
Thanks again,
Kenneth

627.3 | LBR$ limitiation - define logical BEFORE starting queues | HAN::HALLE | Volker Halle MCS @HAO DTN 863-5216 | Thu May 22 1997 03:51 | 12 |

Kenneth,
this is NOT a LATSYM problem/limitation. It is a limitation of the
library LBR$ routines (see info in note HAN::LOOPING_LATSYM 71.2).
Setting LAT$SYMPARAMETER to 16 (BEFORE starting the FIRST LATSYM print
queue !!!) will limit the number of queues handled by each LATSYM print
symbiont to 16. For the 17th LATSYM queue, the queue manager will
AUTOMATICALLY create a new symbiont process (and for the 33rd ...).
Volker.
