The /SINCE switch on the BACKUP command is not working properly. I was
trying to backup selected files from 1996 onward from a subdirectory
and the resulting backup file included earlier files as well (see
attachment). I checked my login.com to see whether any special symbols
were defined that might affect BACKUP and found nothing. Can anyone
explain what is happening and how to fix it?

Got hold of a BACKUP utility manual and the default date for a BACKUP
command, using /SINCE, is the modified date not the create date. So
much for /SINCE default similarities between BACKUP and just about
every other DCL command.
