The DNS$SERVER process has been dumping on one of the Easynet name server
systems. When I attempt to analyze the dump on the system which created it, it
access violates.
Now, I'm very familiar with the problems one often has analyzing dumps on
systems other than the system that created the dump, but I don't remember
anything about an access violation. Any ideas?

Is there :any other info I should get? VIRTUALPAGECNT and PGFLQUOTA are the SYSGEN and UAF parameters, and one potentially needs rather large values for analyzing process dumps. ANALYZE/PROCESS does not respond particularly cleanly to insuffient virtual memory, nor to dumps resulting from corrupted stacks. | |||||

Given the failure address, a standard debug session may not work at
all. I suggest that you use Delta along with Anal/sys to look at this
dump. As Steve H. indicated, analimgdmp does not handle these types of
failures well.

Based on Steve's message, I checked PGFLQUO for my process, found that it was a bit "normal", and increased it. That worked like a charm. I'm curious. I've never used Delta on a process dump. I've had good luck just defining LIB$DEBUG. If the increase in pqflq
worked for you that is great!! In the more general case this often
does not work. Delta then becomes the only option.
