589.0. "license does not load for cluster member, why?" by HTSC19::KENNETH () Wed May 14 1997 07:03
Hi,
I am facing a very strange license problem that I never heard before.
My customer is running VMS V5.5-2H4 on a two node cluster.
After he reboot one of the cluster member, the VMS-USER license is not
loaded even the SCS node name is INCLUDE on the license. DCL>show license
is not there but $license list/fu VMS-USER is active and is INCLUED with
the correct SCS node name.
If we unload and load the license again, we will found the message
"%LICENSE-W-NOINC, INCLUDE list must specify exactly one node"
However, there is only one and only one node, the SCS
node name of the problem member node, on the include list.
After we "license modify/include=<same scs nodename>" and load it again,
it works fine.
Does anyone know or can help me to guess what happen?
Thanks for your help in advance

How many license databases are around, and have you looked in both the
specific and the common database?
