584.0. "sys$pkedriver and Openvms 7.1" by LATINA::GREGORIO (MCS Madrid) Tue May 13 1997 11:26

	Hello,

	I am a customer that he has done a upgrade of OpenVMS from 6.2-1h3 to
	7.1

	He has a Alphastation 255/233 firmware CD 3.8
	When he works with a tape and the CDROM the devices go to offline.

	Internal bus
	--------------|-------------|-------|
		   S.O device    CDROM    TLZ09

	I have read about this problem in TIMA STAR:

237-[OpenVMS] SCSI Bus Reset After RZ28M Added to Local SCSI
237-{Elev} Boot/Shutdown issues VMS Alpha 7.0,7.1 with 3.8,3.7 CD firmware

    	I don't know if this is a Hardware or Software problem, but I need a
        new image of SYS$PKEDRIVER if this image exists.

	Please tell me anything.

	Thanks and Regards

	Goyo Fdez.

	Note 1776 in the Alphastation notes conference (WRKSYS::ALPHASTATION)
	discusses a problem similar to this.

584.2 Thanks Trevor,52919::GREGORIOMCS MadridWed May 14 1997 04:125
    Thanks Trevor,

    the workaround int 1776.1 of (WRKSYS::ALPHASTATION) is O.K.

584.3New driver will be in ALPSCSI01_071VMSSPT::DIFABIOMOVL #OPINION,EXE$GL_BLAKHOLEThu May 15 1997 15:305
    And a new SYS$PKEDRIVER included in the ALPSCSI01_071 kit (which should
    be out any day now) resolves the issue and allows you to 'go fast'
    again.
