hi, I have a customer that is running OpenVMS version 6.2-H2 who is having a problem with BookReader. He is trying to get BookReader to generate a Postscript file so that he can access it from his PC's. The problem is that BookReader does not seem to generate the postscript file correctly. The file that is generated does not contain every 4th or 5th word. IE the word is not even present in the .ps file. I have had a look at the actual postscript file, and confirmed that the words are not in the file. Is this a known bug? If so, is there a patch that will fix this? regards, Mark Nielsen Australia

Re: .0 Known problem.. you could try installing the latest ALPMOTF patch kit applicable to the version of DECwindows Motif your Customer is using.. Bear in mind that the OpenVMS ODL is moving to HTML already, so correct PostScript output from Bookreader may never happen.. a workaround given in TIMA/STARS is to choose TEXT print output format. Other obvious workarounds are (if it's DIGITAL Documentation which the Customer is using) 1) Order paper manuals from DIGITAL Direct ,or, 2) You provide the same in PostScript source form.
