525.0. "Does VAXSHAD012 fix MCOMB Crash?" by GEC013::OAKLEY () Thu Apr 24 1997 17:06
A customer with a 4-node mixed-architecture cluster, VMS V6.1
and VAXSHA09 suffered a SHADDETINCON (SHADOWING detects inconsistent
state) crash. The CLUE results matched a crash known in CANASTA. The
CANASTA output indicated the cause was a missing MCOMB instruction
in the routine which locates a new 'master' member for a shadow set.
The CANASTA output indicated the problem would be fixed in a future
VAXSHAD patch. I observe there is now a VAXSHAD12 kit available.
The release note do not mention a fix for the missing MCOMB
instruction. Does VAXSHAD12 fix this problem? If yes, then is there
a kit that needs to be applied to the Alpha processors?
