500.0. "DETACH Priv becomes IMPERSONATE" by VERN::CARPENTER () Mon Apr 21 1997 09:55

	OVMS 7.1 ALPHA and VAX

When I try to assign the DETACH priv I get IMPERSONATE. Is that
a new name for the same thing

When I do a /priv=nodetach it is in removed.

When I do a /priv=noimpersonate it is removed.

The latest OVMS manual OPENVMS Guide to Security doen not mention the

DETACH and IMPERSONATE have the same bit definitions. Looks like Authorize displays the wrong one.

QAR time.

Is there a workaround? Setting /pri=all doesn't give DETACH ether?

Detach *is* impersonate. You have it.
It's the same privilege bit in the mask, with two different names.

It would by nice if the brand new documentation would say that.

re: .0 and .3

It's working as expected.

IMPERSONATE is the new name. DETACH will still work and be accepted
as input, but the name displayed is IMPERSONATE.

re: all

Please feel free to QAR the documetation. I know some instances have
already been caught, but better to get them all.

Going by the display in .0 the new name is too long! Is someone aware
    of that?
