487.0. "DEC 2000/300 DE425 warm boot fails NCP-W-OPEFAI" by NNTPD::"[email protected]" (Daniel Jeyachandran) Thu Apr 17 1997 12:01
==================================
Cross posted in Jensen notes entry 608.
==================================
DEC 2000/300 with DE425 works OK with cold restarts with VMS V6.1.
Fails with error during Decnet startup on warm reboots.
ERA0_MODE is set to twisted.
Show dev era0/full shows it as DE422, but Jensen console f/w recognises
it as a DE425.
Is this the problem related to bus_mode_algorithm new?
Following is the error message.

| Any clues to the problem.
I meant Bus_probe_algorithm & not bus_mode_algorithm.
Cust says there is no such variable.
Regards.
Daniel.

| If there is a console environment variable, BOOT_RESET, it should be
set to ON. If there isn't one or if it is already set to ON, then it
sounds like a console problem to me, not setting up the DE425 properly
on the way up.
SHOW LAN/ERROR in SDA would give a little more data (and SHOW LAN/COUNTER),
probably the driver isn't getting interrupts or some such thing.
