472.0. "Can DOSD device be RAID-5 set ?" by CSC32::M_OLSON () Mon Apr 14 1997 22:25

    Can a DOSD device be a controller-based RAID-5 set ?  The documentation
    says that a DOSD device can't be a "volume set", which would obviously
    eliminate a bound volume set, but its not clear to me if this also
    excludes using a controller-based RAID-5 set.

    Thanks,  Marc

    If the SPD doesn't answer your question then you should contact the
    relevant Product Manager.

    I would guess that if the controller makes the RAID-5 set look like a
    single disk then VMS would be none the wiser and that DOSD would work
    BUT what is supported is what is stated as supported.
