Hello, I have a customer who wants to use a PowerStorm 3D30 graphics card and ISA multiport cards (DigiBoard PC/8) on AlphaServer 800 running OpenVMS V6.2-1H3. When PowerStorm is not installed on the system the IO SHOW BUS command displays all XBUS and PCI devices plus one 'unknown' PCI device which is a PCI-to-EISA bridge, I guess. Although I don't see my ISA board in the list I can connect to it by means of the IO CONNECT command. And it works. But when I install PowerStorm this 'unknown' device disappears and SYSMAN IO CONNECT fails with the 'reserved opcode' message. This problem appears with this graphics card only. Other PCI boards (KZPSA, for example) do work properly. Does onyone know how to get PowerStorm and ISA devices working together? Thanks in advance Andrei.

458.1 | Get (Correct) Open3D Kit For Drivers... | XDELTA::HOFFMAN | Steve, OpenVMS Engineering | Mon Apr 14 1997 10:30 | 3 |
The customer needs to get the appropriate release of the Open3D drivers for support of the TGA2/PowerStorm 3D30/PBXGB on V6.2-1H3. | |||||

Thanks for the information. If it is just a wrong version of Open3D, I will be happy. The customer has Open3D version 3.3 installed on the system. Is there a special release for OpenVMS V6.2-1H3? |
