431.0. "Lancp update fails with %lancp-f-devreqerr" by SNOFS2::JEYACHANDRAN () Tue Apr 08 1997 06:11
CROSS POSTED FROM DECNET-OSI NOTES CONFERENCE.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
ON VAX6000 running OpenVMS V7.1, I could not upgrade DEMFA F/W
using lancp.
System is running Decnet/OSI V7.1.
Decnduplus download worked OK.
I tried various combinations of Decnet/OSI MOP & Lancp MOP in
exclusive & non-exclusive mode as per note 3269 IN DECNET-OSI.
1. Is it a known problem in LANCP
2. Though Decnduplus "download" was able to load the F/W correctly
on this node, it genearted an error
message %SYSTEM-S-MSGNOTFND before it could load the image.
The message file is present. Any reason for this?

This has nothing to do with firmware updates.

As far as I know, fw update isn't supported on VAX via LANCP.
