As .1 mentions, this will work just fine, and is fully supported. Please see SPEZKO::CLUSTER for various VMScluster-related notes. Also please see the OpenVMS documentation set -- the _VMScluster systems for OpenVMS_ and the _Guidelines to VMScluster Configurations_ manuals cover this topic, and much more.... There are definitely some things the customer will want to know about, including options, requirements, and various suggestions -- the manuals cover these in reasonable detail... (Things mentioned in the manuals: use unique volume labels. Use unique unit numbers across all disks -- these two AlphaServer 8400 systems and the HSJ will likely need to be in the same allocation class. Note that V7.1 is current, and has port-level allocation class support.) |
