| In order to get more information about the exact problem, have your customer
repeat the upgrade. (Or you do it with a copy of the customer system.)
After booting the CD and BEFORE doin the upgade, go to the DCL option and
DEFINE/SYSTEM AXPVMS$PCSI_LOG_TRACE BOTH
This will create a *LOT* of output. If possible, capture it all. At least
capture the exact screen content at the point of error.

| Hi,
The EXACT error that they are getting:
Portion Done: 70%
%PCSI-E-WRITEERR, error writing DISK:[VMS$COMMON.SYSLIB]STARLET.OLB
-LBR-E-DUPKEY, duplicate key in index
%PCSI-E-OPFAILED, operation failed
Terminating is strongly recommended.
Do you wont to terminate? [YES]
Galia.

.2
The customer did the define:
DEFINE/SYSTEM AXPVMS$PCSI_LOG_TRACE BOTH.
Just before the error in .3 He is getting the line :
%PCSI-I-CREMOD, inserted module RDO$MSG in
DISK$AXPVMSSYS:[VMS$COMMON.SYSLIB]STARLET.OLB;4
I assume that the problem is in the next module which is RMS$GLOBALS.
In case RDB is the problem - they have RDB 6.1-04.

The problem has to involve two modules; RMS$GLOBALS appears to be one
of the two.
Use the librarian to look at the global symbols in RMS$GLOBALS in the
copy of STARLET on the CD. Then look for these same symbols in other
modules in the copy of STARLET on the system that you are trying to upgrade.
>In case RDB is the problem - they have RDB 6.1-04.
Have you presented this problem to the RDB support folks?
