<not cross posted anywhere> I need to tell our DOC writers how to start, stop, and examine transports under VMS. In the post V7.0 world there are some new commands to do just this without having to know about the underlying provider (UCX vs TCPware, Phase IV vs Phase V, etc.). It is not clear to me that these commands (start, stop, and show) work. Do I have to tell the DOC people too keep the old style (if Phase IV do this etc.)? The product will only run on post V7.0 VMS. I am aware of no consistent way to do this across all products and all versions. I'd provide the UCX, DECnet Phase IV, and DECnet-Plus descriptions, and then point the folks at the transport-specific or package-specific documentation for any other packages that might be in use. |
