| It's on the cd in the [DECEVENT_023] directory.
You need to separately install it.

| and you need a license PAK, which you get for free if you have a
service contract with Digital MCS. So those customers without a
contract need to buy the license.
Note the producer is DIGITAL-MCSD and not DIGITAL

| I have seen the kit is on the CD , but i wonder why the "bit to text translator"
part of decevent is not bundled with the VMS kit as it was in the last versions.
if i understand, there is "in standart" any tool to analyse an errorlog !!
RE: .2 I know DECEVENT the pak is needed for "Analysis and notification " part
not for "bit to text translator" which is needed to translate errlog.sys , so
why don't include it in VMS ?

| ok, you're right if you only want the bit-to-text translator you don't
need the patch.
As for why the kit isn't bundled with the OS, I believe this might be
a timing and availability issue. The bits of DECevent come out of CXO
and not from central OpenVMS engineering. If unbundled it also allows
for quicker updates should new hardware arrive on the horizon...
