I have a customer who is migrating from VAX/VMS to Alpha. He would like to continue to do 486 cross development in VMS. He was using Oasis development for a VRTX target. He is willing to pay for support. Any pointers? Ron

It doesn't sound as if Oasis is a Digital product. Is this question really related to OpenVMS as an operating system? It seems to me that you are looking for some third-party product. I can find, using AltaVista, references to VRTX, but not to anything called Oasis that seems related and I can't find any relevant pages which have both VRTX and VMS mentioned. I would suggest that the customer contact the vendor for the package he is using and see if an Alpha version is available, or if perhaps the package can be run through DECmigrate's VEST. If worst comes to worst, GNU may give them a free compiler and linker. They may then need a kernel (VRTX is one, but whether it is compatible with GNU tools is another story). regards john |
