HI My customer has just acquired an DEC3000/500 w OpenVMS V6.2. He is using it as a PCM box and has 2 video connects on the system one is the default console and the other is on a turbochannel card (PMAG-E). Has anyone out there got any advice on how to get both of these screens to work under Motif, as currently the Turbochannel video goes dead after booting the system. Thanks Steve C

The WRKSYS::DEC3000 and BULOVA::DECWINDOWS conferences are the places for this mixed-multi-headed workstation question... You'll want to mention the DECwindows, DECwindows Motif or CDE version, and if the (large; required) patches for DECwindows have been applied for the particular release in use, and if any customizations have been performed in the DECwindows file DECW$PRIVATE_SERVER_SETUP. (I've had some experience with this topic and am presently running a dual-head -- twin video controllers -- on a VAXstation 4000-60 and on an AlphaStation 255. See DECwindows note 5760.* for some of the basics of the work needed under CDE or under Motif.) |
