268.0. "ODDRIVER, OMDRIVER version mismatch after upgrade" by HGOSPS::KENNETH () Mon Mar 03 1997 06:09

Hi,

One of my customer just upgrade to VAX VMS V6.2. However, the customer has
a "Juke Box Virtual Platter Manager, JVPM". After the upgrade, there is
error message telling us that the version is mismatch with the VMS version.

SYSGEN-E-SYSVERDIF, system version mismatch -reassemble and relink driver
SYSGEN-I-DRIVENAM, driver name is SYS$SPECIFIC:[SYS$LDR]OMDRIVER
SYSGEN-E-SYSVERDIF, system version mismatch -reassemble and relink driver
SYSGEN-I-DRIVENAM, driver name is SYS$SPECIFIC:[SYS$LDR]ODDRIVER.

I know that the driver is from US Design. Anyone there know how can I order
the latest version from Digital?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Regards,

Kenneth Leung

You're in the wrong conference. Most DIGITAL optical storage products
are discussed in the notes conference ELWOOD::OPTICAL.

My assumption is that you will want to look for the product that
included these drivers -- if this is a third-party product and it
does appear so, you will need to contact the third-party. If this
is a DIGITAL storage device, you will need to tell us which one.

Per the OpenVMS VAX device driver registry, the OD device prefix is
registered to a DX-11 DIGITAL product on OpenVMS VAX, while the OM
device prefix is registered to the DIGITAL DC-11 product.

As for "ordering this from DIGITAL", call up US Robotics, get a
price, and offer the package to the customer for the US Robotics
price plus a small profit for DIGITAL.

You'll have to go to US Design (not US Robotics!) for a newer package.

This is a 3rd party package, and not currently available or supported
    by Digital.

    MSGAXP::OPTICAL has some reference info.
