One of my customers is having a problem with the console monitor on their AlphaServer 1000. Sometimes when they return after a weekend the screen on the monitor is blank (it should have a DECWindows window but it has nothing), however they can type ctl F2 and see the console output from when it was booted. They can reboot and all is well for a couple of weeks, then the problem comes back. I replaced the video card but it didn't fix the problem. Is there a software patch that fixes this problem ? Any other suggestions are welcome. They are running OpenVMS Ver. 6.2 Thanks, Mike

DECwindows is a better spot. When you ask about this over there, you'll want to mention the version of DECwindows, DECwindows Motif, or CDE, in use, and if the appropriate patches have been applied. V1.2-4 is the current release, and large patch kits are available via CSC and at the Internet patch area for both the V1.2-3 and the V1.2-4 releases. |
